Even Iron Man Needs Pain Relief and Natural Supplements

The Iron Man race is one of the most intensive athletic competitions in the world. As far as one-day events go, the Iron Man triathlon race is one of the toughest and any man or woman who manages to complete the event deserves a round of applause.

So what does the Iron Man race entail? The race isn’t exactly for the faint hearted. You’ll start with a 2.4-mile swim. Doesn’t sound so bad right? Just a long dip. But if you’re not done with the swim in 2 hours and twenty minutes, you’re cut from the race.

After your swim, you’ll be tasked with completing a 112-mile bicycle ride. Yes, you read that correctly, 112 miles! You’ll get a full eight hours and 10 minutes to complete the bicycle race or you’re cut. Cramps and muscle aches and pains are also all but mandatory.

And since this is a triathlon, you already know that the Iron Man race isn’t finished just yet. You’ll have six and a half hours to run a 26.22-mile marathon.

Granted, this is a pretty generous time as far as marathons are concerned. However, you’ll also suffer from numerous muscle aches and pains given the first two parts of the triathlon. And keep in mind, you’re allowed essentially no breaks in between.

Want to compete in the Iron Man race? Sign up here!  But you need to prepare. Unless you’re in peak condition already, you’ll have to spend months swimming, running, and cycling. Want to jump-start your efforts? Try our Iron Man formula and Iron Man Recovery Bath Soak here.

The full record for an Iron Man race completion by a male is 7 hours, 35 minutes, and 39 seconds.  Jan Frodeno is the World Champion as of 2019. For women read more about the Triathalon record breaker Chrissie Wellington at 8 hours, 18 minutes, and 13 seconds here. You can bet that these athletes were quick sore from their excursion.

Still, as incredibly challenging as the Iron Man race is, roughly 50,000 people will complete it in any given year. (That’s a whole lot of sore muscles and joints!) While it’s certainly a measure of strength and stamina, becoming an Iron Man or Iron Woman certainly is possible.
